Germany’s far-right AfD win historic victory, but fall short of majority in Saxony-Anhalt

While historically weaker in the West, the AfD is surging. It recently scored nearly 20% of the vote

In Rhineland-Palatinate and is tracking at 16% in the economically powerful state of Baden-Württemberg.

At the federal level, the AfD is currently polling in first place at 28% nationwide, making it the most popular single party in Germany. This follows its record-breaking second-place finish (20.8%) in the 2025 federal elections.

"When" is impossible to predict...but it's looking good.
A lot of countries, Germany included, have over corrected on many issues, most especially the cuck approach to immigration, so no surprise parties like this would gain so much traction. Well, it's democracy and the people have spoken.

This is the issue with the pendulum of politics. It rarely, if ever stops in the middle.

Europe has reached the brink and democracy will prevail, even though the Left says it is NOT democracy when parties like AfD win elections.

Maybe we are looking at a version of the European Spring....with Brussels being set on fire and the EU collapsing.

We can only hope.

yet, the right is willing to roll over and bend over for Russia.
Yeah maybe I shouldn't have commented. I know jack shyt about the politics really going down in Europe. Apparently immigration is a massive problem though (it's basically all what I see on the news lol)

Its the classic Russian tactic of using propaganda to inflate domestic issues in order to bring about pro Russia policies.

i.e. immigration is a big problem, and we have to remove sanctions on Russia.

I know they are not under my bed, because I can see they are in the bed with the afd.

Supporting Ukraine will be the death of Europe.

This is how all empires fell throughout history. Fighting unwinnable wars in far away lands.

Especially if they lack the willingness to really commit. Nobody in Europe is really willing to go and die for Ukraine, so you might as well give it up.

Like when they did not support Czechoslovakia against Germany. That worked out super well did it not.

Lol. So wrong. That is like waiting for the crocodile to eat you last. Russia right now has finally got a scary military. If they get Ukraine and absorb the Ukrainian military they would instantly be strong enough to take all their old European haunts. The western Europeans would wring their hands and cry but be powerless to stop them. The USA is already firmly in Russia's pocket and the rest of the Europe gave up their ability to even project war as they handed that ability over to America. Without American support Europe cannot wage war currently outside their borders. They do not have the logistics anymore.

I hate Russia, I hate Putin, but dear God that man can play a bad hand of cards better than anyone on this planet. His managing an economy the size of Canada roughly and has the world dancing to his evil orcish tune. You included.

For who? The rest of Europe?

Ww2 was basically the decline/death of the British and old European empires and America took over.

The Russians also over extended the USSR and it collapsed in the 90s. It is unlikely that they will make the same mistakes again. And even if Russia wanted to it lacks the power to go much further than eastern Ukraine. Eastern European countries like Poland is not even at risk nevermind western Europe.

You are arguing ww2 could have been avoided by starting it sooner, which is nonsensical.

They are starting to reverse course on that, increasing spending on defense. This whole Iran thing showed that they can't rely on America to even bring down some goat fondlers. If anything America was crying about the people relying on them not providing support. So why does anyone need the yanks anymore...

Eastern Ukraine has been destroyed in the war. They cannot get Ukraine and absorb the Ukraine military to fight for them when they have been killing each other for years.

This is not a video game were you capture the enemy base and the units change color.

Retard level take.

The scary part of Russia military is just the nukes and they had that since the 70s.
And the USA is also still supporting Ukraine sadly. You have the most basic facts wrong

Your talking points sound so familiar.

  • Dismissing the crisis as a remote issue: On September 27, 1938, just days before the Munich Agreement, Chamberlain delivered a radio broadcast describing the escalating threat of a European war over Czechoslovakia as:
"...a quarrel in a faraway country between people of whom we know nothing."
  • Trusting Hitler’s restricted aims: Upon returning from his very first face-to-face meeting with Hitler at Berchtesgaden earlier that September, Chamberlain briefed his cabinet, stating that he believed Hitler’s objectives were strictly limited to incorporating German-speaking populations and that the dictator could be reasoned with:
"In spite of the hardness and ruthlessness I thought I saw in his face, I got the impression that here was a man who could be relied upon when he had given his word."

Not everything is Hitler. Putin isn't Hitler.

It's like you guys have only one point of reference for your entire world view and history. Only Hitler, every bad guy is Hitler.

Your argument doesn't even work because everyone else not part of the war did get involved and did lose their empires. Like Britain.

Bwahahaha. This must be a new record on the forum for someone showing astonishing levels of historical ignorance. Open a history book once in a while. The German army absorbed a lot of people from conquered areas during WW2. Eastern European, French, even Dutch soldiers in the Wehrmacht carried them on for years. They may not have fought as hard as the Germans who drank the cool aid but it has happened as long as man has existed. Roman armies almost immediately after conquering areas absorbed auxiliary troops from the conquered territory. Alexander the great was so brilliant at it the troops not only fought for him but loved him as their conqueror. He was just that charismatic. Even if they could not trust the people to fight them they sure taxed them and took their stuff for the war effort. It is as old as time. Russia knows how to use propaganda to brainwash supporters, and how to use the rest as cannon fodder. The longer the world kicks this can down the road the harder it will be to stop Putin.

During the last few days there has been a LOT of news regarding the AfD success in Saxony-Anhalt. And after the results the news agencies flocked to that region and spent hours on the streets interviewing citizens.

The main questions:

Did you vote for AfD? And it was quite interesting how many people freely admitted that they did.

And then came the obvious question: "Why?"

And lo and behold...from young to old, I have yet to hear ANYONE say that it has anything to do with Eastern Germany and feeling left behind and the "old times" and "communism" etc etc.

Most reasons given:

Current government adding zero value, so why keep voting for them.
Immigration
No one listens to the voters anymore.
Immigration
EU policies created by non-voters are not in the interest of Germans.
Immigration

So, don't blindly believe the fearmongering being regurgitated by the leftist media...the only people that believe it and are crying into their strudel about it, are the pink haired, man bun, septum ring brigade in Berlin and Munchen...

That actually speaks to my point. From what I can gather, Saxony-Anhalt is not an area that's particularly affected by immigration, yet loads of people are voting on the basis of it. They are easily influenced to find a scapegoat for their perceived situation.

It's just too strong a trend internationally to ignore. Look at where MAGA support thrives; look at areas in the UK where Reform has most support. Always the poors.
