Are your pets registered within your municipal area?

We have learned from recent media articles that all pets in the City of Cape Town should be registered. This appears to be within the bylaws of some other municipalities too. This now begs the question...Are your pets registered within your municipal area?
And if no... tell us in this thread... are you going to rush out to a vet and get the required paperwork and then proceed to register each of them? And where you have no chips for your pets, also incur that cost?

I don't have any pets. I can't control the 4 cats who just so happen to loiter in the yard and decide to sleep inside, and eat out of the bowls I have provided to them.

They are free to leave whenever they so choose to

Not registered with the municipality but all cats need to be microchipped and all dogs must be chipped and have a collar with your contact details on them.

No. But any municipal worker is free to come and tag/check/pet my bullterrier fo free. Or maybe it will cost them and arm and a leg..

In CT they dont charge a fee for it ....at the moment.
But the registration require some effort and costs from you in getting a report from a vet etc.

It was a thing back in the 80's ... not sure when it started, but somehow people just stopped doing it.

Must be another Jan's fault thing.
