Of course not. Simply being transparent about what you pay for doesn't reduce the underlying inefficiencies or even expose them. Only competition will reduce costs.

Well, I think we are all aware that Eskom hasn't turned a corner, they have been saved by business closing down permanently or leaving the country and of course everyone able installing Solar because Eskom is too useless to even keep the light on for any length of time. As for the Minister it is the usual patronage we know the ANC for, i.e. jobs for friends at any cost. Now government is starting to try protect themselves by making people pay for 'infrastructure' whether they are connected or not. Long overdue that the current regime get shown the door, 32 years of failure and looting are I believe more than enough. Pity the people of this country are more interested in sinking while protecting their own than standing together to deal with the real threat.
