Strangely no mention of an iPhone 18, the iPhone 17 lives on on Apples site.

Actually it was expected Apple is changing their release schedule. The iPhone 18 will launch with the 18e and Air 2 next year April

Yep, that’s eye watering. I’d need to trade in my iPhone 17, latest iPad mini and M4 MacBook Air and I’d still have to put cash in to get one.

Just did a trade in price check, iPhone 13, iPad Mini 6 and M1 MacBook Air. Only about R15k. Lol.Yep, that’s eye watering. I’d need to trade in my iPhone 17, latest iPad mini and M4 MacBook Air and I’d still have to put cash in to get one.
Erm, yeah. That won’t be happening any time soon. Need to save up the eBucks for this one
To be fair I got 4-5 years service out of those.
Actually decent when you consider the length of time you’ve had them and the use you’ve had.
But measure that against the Duo and you’re not even halfway

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are now official and they are joined by the first foldable from the brand – the iPhone Duo.
The 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will launch for pre-order across the first wave of 65 countries, including the US, the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, China, France, India, South Korea, and others, this Saturday, September 12. Shipments will start from September 18. Another 20 countries will get the iPhones from September 25.
The iPhone Duo will be available for pre-order across the same regions and countries from October 16, with shipments commencing on October 23. A further 28 countries will get the Duo from October 30.
Comparing the new models to last year’s prices reveals the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are $100 more expensive at launch in the US.

18 Pro (finally) looks like a significant enough upgrade over my now (quite) old 13 Pro to make the move - except I just dropped the value of one on a new GPU, so will have to wait. Or, like someone else said, just wait a little longer to see what Apple has in store for the 20th anniversary edition.

Fold 8 is like 2cm x 6cm larger physically, Fold weighs 201g vs 254g, and the Fold has a larger battery. iPhone Duo weighs similar to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and costs about 20% more than the Fold 8, and a higher resolution, will have to see real-world.
Will be interesting to see whose hinges are better, but the iPhone introducing the under display camera there looks good, am very interested to see reviews of them side by side, but I know I'm not getting anything in this price class, not worth it to me, but really nice to see tech moving forward a bit again (both Samsung and Apple, Apple doing this means we might see better adoption of under display front cameras).

I actually don’t use a lot of storage. I’m a confirmed base model storage kind of guy.
