Can we pick the one where the government stops mismanaging the money and living beyond the country's means?! If we minimise corruption there will be a LOT more money to go around.

Not exactly the point of the statement though?

Can't believe this has to be restated or that so many missed the point.

Up until now the guavament has been partially paying for the price increase that is directly related to Senior-Moment Cheeto's idiocy with Iran.

Said "paying" came from ... you guessed it.... tax funding. So what is being stated is - pay via more tax or pay the actual price at the pump.

That being said, we *had* a strategic reserve in place for precisely this contingency. Guess what happened to it. Go on. Guess.

Umm you are aware we pay the "actual price" at the pump via the BFP calculation, there is a month on month over/under recovery that is then clawed back from the consumer or the treasury depending on which side of the equation benefits.. The government doesn't "fund" anything of that in the long term via taxes.

yeah the point of the statement is to present a false binary choice

the "partially paying for price increases" came from temporarily not hiking the fuel levy i.e. they were already going to increase tax on fuel, that has nothing to do with Trump

the reasons our government keeps hiking tax and spending beyond their means also have nothing to do with Trump, a bunch of corrupt thieving cnuts that have raped the country dry for three decades now pointing finger at the Iran war is nothing but grasping at a convenient scapegoat, the root cause however remains the ANC

Well clearly you might be if you're claiming that we must pay the "actual" price at the pumps rather than the government paying for the Orange Toddlers adventures, even partially which they don't do.
