Apple launches iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, reveals pre-order date

oh I know of Apple, it's the 18th iteration of the same overpriced phone with no real noteworthy upgrades that has long been surpassed by Korean and even Chinese rivals, that still has "pre-orders" for the brainwashed spectrum babies that I have serious doubts about
Korean glorified dishwasher maker.

I see they launched Touch ID on the Duo … ‘we wanted to provide an easy, secure and consistent way to authenticate’

But it wasn’t long ago they told us how insecure it was? @Smiggles don’t you have that 1:50,000 slide on hand?

You’re going to be waiting forever for him to reply to that

It’s the biggest failure in compromising this device, reverting to TouchID because they couldn’t make it work with FaceID.

Now there’s even less chance we’ll see it on lower end and other devices I reckon.

Not that I think there’s anything wrong with TouchID security wise, it’s just a very odd workflow to use it when FaceID exists.

It doesn't make much sense that they couldn't make it work considering iPhone Air has Face ID at only 0.4mm thicker - that's 3 or 4 pieces of paper? Why not add make it margially thicker and have no compromise?

They spent time a few years ago telling everyone how insecure Touch ID was a few years back and flashed the 1:50,000 stat everywhere. Now, they decide to use Touch ID again and introduce it as ‘we wanted to provide an easy, secure and consistent way to authenticate'

But you did at one point?

"fingerprint biometrics the answer is that it becomes a lot easier to clone the fingerprint of any one person and therefore it’s less secure as a technology. TouchID will be murdered outright and rightfully so. My thought and opinion is that TouchID is garbage compared to FaceID. They won't bring it back, it's a legacy technology they are working hard to phase out. & Most people don't want TouchID"

Smiggles also alsigned with the decisions at the time.

Should they add it on both displays?
