Because if there wasn't so much stealing and corruption everywhere else they wouldn't need to be scraping the bottom of the barrel everywhere and overcharging for petrol at the pumps.Not exactly the point of the statement though?
Can't believe this has to be restated or that so many missed the point.
Up until now the guavament has been partially paying for the price increase that is directly related to Senior-Moment Cheeto's idiocy with Iran.
Said "paying" came from ... you guessed it.... tax funding. So what is being stated is - pay via more tax or pay the actual price at the pump.
That being said, we *had* a strategic reserve in place for precisely this contingency. Guess what happened to it. Go on. Guess.
It's an overall systemic issue, not only with fuel.
