Maybe I misread you then, just to confirm for the record - you do not believe the IDF is justified in how they have annihilated Gaza and it’s people and civilians, women and children are not fair game as targets?

You never misread me, you just never read me in the first place and jumped onto the peanut gallery bandwagon.

But if you want me to clarify something, why not ask me a question without the ridiculous loaded dogma which seeks to simplify the situation based on your own biased opinions.

But to break it down and extract the question from the BS, then no, civilians of any age or sex are in no way fair game for the IDF.

The same old same old, it happens every time someone pushes you to own your opinions on this thread and its been multiple different people not just me being on the receiving end of these tirades.

You can ask me if Hamas was justified with what they did on Oct 7 and taking hostages etc and I’ll give you a straight simple answer which is no their actions were not justified. And likewise if the same thing was asked of me regarding the IDF's actions in Gaza I’d give a straight answer - no their actions were not justified.

In my opinion both groups are being run by lunatics and lunatics will do terrible things to other humans with no justification.

Gaza and it’s people has been annihilated, there's no other way to frame it.

If the IDF's annihilation of Gaza and its people was not justified then why do you attack people every time they post anything you perceive that shows Israel in a negative light, considering many of Israels leaders and in the IDF have been going neck and neck with Hamas in terms of brutality and inciting people to violence and murder??

Because it helps no-one, least of all the people of Gaza who are suffering more than anyone due to the position of people fooled and fueled by lies and misinformation.

Sure, the 'leaders' are as bad as each other, but how does demonising one side over the other help the people of Gaza? Constant hitting on Israel serves no purpose other than to perpetuate the violence and echo the desires of people like @Kappie and @3Gee who want this war and who want Israel gone. Two people for example who have been shown time and again to care nothing for the innocent people who suffer under the iron rule of Hamas. From the river to the sea actually means something, and these type of violent bigots have conned people into doing their bidding for them and the Iranians.

It's fscking madness. An oppresive fundamentalist Islamic regime who care nothing for human rights and are obseesed wiht wiping out Israel, versus a modern democracy who have been trying for years to make peace with their neighbours. Hundreds of thouands of whom are free to support Palestinian rights, and do.

Facts are that Israel is the one who has made peace deals with many of their neighbours and were continuing to do so. Did you know that 2 separate Israeli governement minsters visited Saudi in the 2 weeks before October 7th?

Hamas could not allow this, hence the attacks.

And now no doubt come the quotes and tweets about the Israeli nutters who want Palestinians wiped out. Yes, there are some. Same as we have Malema and Zuma, all countries have their share of nutters and zealots in power. All of them.

Anyway, long passage, but please read and try to understand where I come from. The responses will divert from this, blaming Israel for everything (and they do have blame of course), but no mention of the billions squandered in militarising Gaza instead of building a paradise.

There is one goal for them, the destruction of Israel and I can't understand how people are so easily fooled into thinking the opposite.

When they say 'from the river to the sea', they mean it. Why would anyone think otherwise?

I don't know what to say if you are still arguing in bad faith like this, you first say "Sure, the 'leaders' are as bad as each other, but how does demonising one side over the other help the people of Gaza?" and then go straight to attacking the Palestinian side and equating anyone who calls out the terrible actions Israel has perpetrated as acting in unison with violent bigots.

You've softened your stance somewhat but it's still overtly one sided despite the very obvious and vocal extremists on both the Palestinian and the Israeli side. As many people on this thread agree this is a situation brought on and continued by both sides, Israel is not an innocent bystander here and hasn't been for a long time if ever.

There is a very vocal portion of Israel that wants exactly what Hamas wants except in the opposite direction, it's not a recent development and some of these people are now ministers in the current Israeli Government and say these things with impunity out in the open. The same people that supported the assassination of their own prime minister 30yrs ago because he was seeking peace and a solution with the Palestinians and who still celebrate his murder to this day.

The current Bibi government is fanning these flames, it's not a fringe movement and now that Gaza is flattened it seems they are moving their attention to increasing settler attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, all while the IDF stands by doing nothing or actively helping the settlers. Both the Palestinians and Israelis have much to answer for in this ongoing tragedy.

I acknowledge that, but I contend that the only way to peace is for the Palestinians to come to the table. Terrorism and recuring intifadas that some on here seem to think is acceptable only leads to the never ending cycle of violence. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I have biases, but this needs to end and the only way is for the Palestinians to want peace and accept that Israel is here to stay, which will force Israel to come to the same table.

Right or wrong, fair or unfair, it is the only way.
