SA Politics Part 14 - The New Dawn turns to Dusk

What gives you an impression that there is a complete collapse of service delivery, particularly in Soweto, when last were you there or where do you get your information from?
I get my information from the media. Plenty of reports about a lack of service delivery in JHB - some even posted in this thread.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, the GLM's amazing ability to fsck things up gets even better.

I am genuinely shocked ChatGPT allowed me to generate this.

I googled. Apart from the occasional protest (always folks who are never satisfied with anything) nothing much came up

So I'm going with @TheChamp on this one. Soweto residents are quite fine

So are you saying that the ANC only look after their voter base?

When last did you see a service delivery protest in Soweto? Or any other Joburg township for that matter? I mean we should be seeing one every week with the complete collapse of service delivery, right?

So no, Soweto residents are not fine, they have many complaints, just like residents elsewhere, but the notion that there is a complete collapse of service delivery, especially from someone who is hundreds of kilometers away in Cape Town is simply laughable.

Yesterday, lol.

@ShaunSA your googling skills suck...

Only because I like you :p

Now if service delivery does collapse I fully expect Soweto to burn. And I'd even donate petrol and matches to make it happen

PS. Schools don't fall under the city anyways :whistling:

Remember Sipho ? He told everybody that Soweto residents get free everything so what is there to complain?

Soweto benefits shall be taken away by Helen Zille once she is Mayor so you better get your soweto friends ready to vote.

Forget about Soweto. In our complex in Midrand, we have municipal street lights and we have been warned by authorities not to fix them, not even change globes. Our HOA manager has logged many calls since last 2 years. Nothing.

Same with electricity meter box covers inside - covers keep coming off every week and we try to use various non-invasive means because we have been warned NOT to do permanent fixes. I was skeptical of calls logged by our manager so went to check myself and Midrand office confirmed that all reference numbers are with them.

Pikitup keeps on breaking bins and they don't get replaced for 4-6 months.

COJ is in shambles. Our area has DA councilor despite being mainly non-white suburb so hopefully rest of the f00kers catch a wakeup this November.

White people problems

And that is a local government issue?
True, it's a Lesufi issue. Thanks for highlighting that

Let's try electricity 2 months ago:

Electricity 3 months ago:

Electricity 4 months ago:

Think you can see where this is going. It may not be every week, but it does seem to be every month...
