DStv's new Sports package is hard to beat with other dedicated sports streaming services available in South Africa.

Yes it is. Only downside is One stream and no downloads.

I haven't had an antenna or dish in many, many years. Everything I watch is IPTV, and it's really not all that bad. I'm not subscribed to them all, but Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Apple, YouTube all have 4k available

The sports from SS just looks bad on IPtv. The rest I can agree.

The real downside is it's not available to anyone other than existing mobile subscribers.

Not really, doesn't also have all available cricket DStv gets which this new package does.

And AI tells me the sports on Disney+ aren't live anyway except for ESPN.

Think the AI is making stuff up, unless ESPN doesn't show any live sport on DSTV, as from personal experience, as I used the DSTV schedule for ESPN, in the old app.

And today's Live games is the same time in the Disney app as what it's shown on DSTV. I'm almost sure the DSTV channels are using the same stream as what the Disney+ app is using.

For local Cricket you need Youtube as CSA streams as they stream most domestic games live also the recent SA vs Zim VS Namibia, SA A and SA Emerging games was shown live.

Sure but as my father in law keeps telling me, if it were illegal it wouldn't be on Facebook. Also, the guy who set it up for him says the reason it's constantly buffering is because his WIFI is terrible and he needs to run a network cable from the router to the TV. No amount of debate about this resulted in anything. I ran a cable. It's still buffering. Now the debate is that he needs to change ISPs because clearly it's their fault, at least that has been what he's been told. I'm guessing when this happens and it still doesn't improve it'll be the governments fault because he can't buy Starlink which will definitely solve this situation.

Sorry, only edited in "except for ESPN" afterwards, but that's all it has live.

Read again - DStv is giving much more than local cricket, everything it gets including all international games is included in the new Sports package.

I'll post what the article details about competition shortly.


But streaming quality is still poor when DStv is busy, so they have their work cut out for them.

Yep, just did a check of the guide - some sports truly live but it's rare due to the time difference. The channels' feed from the US is always a "live" one though.
