Well, that depends on your definition of "important". Nobody in this thread was important to me as I was not related to, befriended or even met a single one of them. I merely knew about their existence in most cases and enjoyed the work produced by a few. But their passing didn't make any direct difference to my life.

Interesting to see Nicholas Brendon mentioned there but Anthony Stewart Head also passed this year, and Michelle Trachtenberg last year so three cast members of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in two years. Feels different watching the series now.

Mike McFarland, known as the English voices of Master Roshi and Najirobe in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Buggy the Clown in One Piece and many other anime works, died September 10 of brain cancer. He was 56.

Also a script writer, director and line producer, McFarland was one of the original and most influential figures in Texas-based anime production, first with Funimation and then Crunchyroll after their merger.
