It was a debate, not a coalition meeting, it has nothing to do with working with Zille, the DA itself is on record in saying they won't work with the EFF, they also said they won't work with the ANC previously, so where does that put your argument?

The supporters of the party don't mind his stance, as to what you think of it as a DA supporter, well, that's very irrelevant, not like you were going to vote for him if he went there and hugged Zille.

No one is asking him to hug anyone. Just that he be less of a coward and put his feelings aside and show the people what he stands for and what he envisions his policies will achieve.

But no, he just showed people he is a proper coward, driven by feelings and not service for the people. Pathetic.

You missed the entire point. Nobody wants to be led by a moffie. They want someone who can confront the challenges head on, yet this guy can't even confront a debate. Go look at the general sentiment on his Twitter posts, where he prefers to have his debates, even from his own voters...

As I said, his supporters do not mind that he wasn't there, why is it just DA supporters who are touched on their feels by his absence?

I don't see a big deal. Zille has said the same with many other parties but people like Herman & Lesufi get hated by afri-guys coz reasons.
DA mayoral candidate Helen Zille ruled out the ANC, EFF, and MK Party if it came to forming a coalition after the local elections.

I can assure you that I never missed anything, Zuma has never has a debate with Zille, yet he led the ANC to two over 60% wins over Zille, and there he is with his Gwaza Mkhonto in KZN, running rings around everyone.

What seems to be the problem here is that we have DA supporters, who for some inexplicable reason, expect a leader of a party they won't vote for to do things that pleases them, like going to a debate with Zille.

Wake me up when the supporters of ActionSA mount a revolt against Mashaba for missing a debate against Zille.

Yeah, but we know the DA can do one thing and it becomes the greatest thing ever done, another party does the same thing and it's the greatest sin ever committed by mankind.

Just look at how people were cursing at other parties working with the ANC, compare that to when the DA itself decided they will work with the ANC, all of a sudden it was for the greater good of humanity.

I think DA people miss glorious times when public debates were held and presidents/Prime ministers like Malan, Verwoerd, Botha battled it out using their eloquence.

Good old days.

Forget about Soweto. In our complex in Midrand, we have municipal street lights and we have been warned by authorities not to fix them, not even change globes. Our HOA manager has logged many calls since last 2 years. Nothing.

Same with electricity meter box covers inside - covers keep coming off every week and we try to use various non-invasive means because we have been warned NOT to do permanent fixes. I was skeptical of calls logged by our manager so went to check myself and Midrand office confirmed that all reference numbers are with them.

Pikitup keeps on breaking bins and they don't get replaced for 4-6 months.

COJ is in shambles. Our area has DA councilor despite being mainly non-white suburb so hopefully rest of the f00kers catch a wakeup this November.

It's not going to end well for the GLM in court...

The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has pushed back against the ANC’s claim that its online candidate nomination system (OCNS) experienced “a glitch” just before the 17:00 deadline on 28 August.

To prove its point, the IEC has presented screenshots to the Electoral Court in Bloemfontein showing that at 16:56 and 16:57, the ANC submitted its list of nominated candidates for wards and proportional representation in the Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape.

This is in complete contrast to the ANC’s claims that the online system was malfunctioning at 16:34 and 16:35, and that by 16:57, the portal no longer allowed the party to submit any names, instead redirecting users to the landing page.

The IEC has laid out its case in a responding affidavit filed on Monday. The commission was also responding to the ANC’s application to “appeal” its decision not to allow any parties to add to their lists of nominated candidates after failing to meet the deadline.


The affidavit by IEC chief electoral officer Sy Mamabolo also includes annexures of emails showing the party was auto-reminded of the deadline days in advance, along with excerpts from the user manual cautioning administrators that submitting the list as final was a critical step.
