Government to blame for record-high petrol prices in South Africa

High fuel levies and South Africa's lack of investment in its fuel refining capabilities means the country's motorists are likely to see fuel prices climb even higher in future.

Agreed, government has sold strategic reserves at well below market value and when the war in Iran started had less than a third of the required strategic reserves on hand, add the very large tax portion of the fuel cost and the pain the motorist is forced to endure is very much largely the government fault. Without the ANC this country would be a lot better off than it is.

Fuel prices are at record high prices just about everywhere in the world.
