Fake toys are flooding South Africa’s online market

Google seems to describe the problem perfectly:
Heat Warning: Keep squishies away from direct sunlight and hot cars, as some gel-filled or cheap versions can melt, leak, or burst.
Check Quality: Buy from reputable brands when possible; health authorities have warned that some off-brand or counterfeit squishies may contain strong chemical odors or unsafe materials.
Inspect Regularly: Discard any toys that show tears, leaks, or sticky inner residue.

Remember the only difference between the counterfeit and the "real" item is very often the supply route. The "real" one is made in the same sweatshops, using the same materials and workers, but is then sent to the official distributors, while the excess capacity and materials are taken and put together, with a label that looks almost identical, and in a cheaper box, to the second source marketers who then sell them.
