JSW Motors is gearing up to debut its first product in the Indian market. The company plans to launch the Chery Jetour T2 SUV, which is likely to be christened ‘Combat’ when it goes on sale later this year.
Reports suggest that the JSW Combat SUV could be priced in the range of Rs 30-50 lakh ex-showroom and will challenge the recently launched Honda ZR-V.
The JSW Combat will be based on a monocoque chassis and is expected to feature the same boxy design as the Jetour T2. Inside, the SUV will offer a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.6-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 540-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and adaptive cruise control, among other features.
In India, the JSW Combat will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system comprising two electric motors and an 18.4 kWh battery. It has an electric-only range of 90 km (NEDC).
