JSW Motors is gearing up to debut its first product in the Indian market. The company plans to launch the Chery Jetour T2 SUV, which is likely to be christened ‘Combat’ when it goes on sale later this year.

Reports suggest that the JSW Combat SUV could be priced in the range of Rs 30-50 lakh ex-showroom and will challenge the recently launched Honda ZR-V.

The JSW Combat will be based on a monocoque chassis and is expected to feature the same boxy design as the Jetour T2. Inside, the SUV will offer a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.6-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 540-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and adaptive cruise control, among other features.

In India, the JSW Combat will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system comprising two electric motors and an 18.4 kWh battery. It has an electric-only range of 90 km (NEDC).

Review: 2026 JMC Grand Avenue 2.5TD 4×4

Verdict

From a bang-for-buck standpoint, the JMC Grand Avenue 2.5D 4×4 AT is very impressive – serving up plenty of space, composed road manners and genuine off-road ability. Its lower pricing does come with some caveats, though. There’s the impression of thinner-gauge metals in the bodywork that’s evident in the unseemly ‘clank’ with which the doors and tailgate close. And while it doesn’t feel spartan, flagship double-cab omissions of such features as ADAS, auto lights and wipers, and electrically adjustable seats are noticeable but aren’t likely to prove mission-critical to those looking for a spacious and largely capable double-cab. Given that it feels all-round capable and has the sort of presence double-cab owners are looking for – not to mention that very competitive price – the Grand Avenue 2.5D 4×4 AT is well worth investigating.
