The Freedom Front Plus’ message appeals to many conservative South Africans, but the party is not getting the votes which align with those views.

Different story in the Western Cape, not only possible but essential there as people find more and more need to move away from the DA and further still from the ANC.
But the Coloureds would need to get on board, somehow. At least both groups are Afrikaans based, may help...

They say something fairly similar on their own website. They make it clear that they are a party for minorities, and on top of that their religious positioning just reinforces it.

So unless you're a minority who wants to abandon the secular state and become a theocracy, it would be difficult to support them.

Actually, no. Given we are a pure PR system and we know that the FF+ will never go into a formal coalition with the ANC, a vote for FF is as good as a vote for the DA (sort of). Of course there are sometimes cases where the number of votes in a municipality is not enough to achieve a seat for small parties, but that's not really the case in densely populated urban areas.

Of course there are sometimes cases where the number of votes in a municipality is not enough to achieve a seat for small parties, but that's not really the case in densely populated urban areas.

I would think that in an area where the FF+ is already large enough to make a difference then yes, voting for them would make sense, but in areas where they hold no sort of numbers, voting for them not the opposition who holds numbers would be a wasted vote in reality, especially in the coming local elections. Whereas voting for the DA in areas where they hold numbers would be a better bet. I am not implying that the DA is a better party, just that where they already hold a clear majority and could possibly win, voting for them is the sensible thing to do.
