iPhone 18 Pro pre-orders open and prices revealed in South Africa

Digicape and iStore, two of South Africa's Apple Premium Resellers, have launched pre-orders and revealed the prices of the newly announced iPhone 18 Pro series.

The 256GB model iPhone 18 Pro will sell for R28,799 in South Africa, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max will start at R31,299. Both will ship from 18 September 2026.

I realise these are Pro models but that's not an insignificant chunk of change for a phone.

I realise these are Pro models but that's not an insignificant chunk of change for a phone.

It’s a lot of risk to have in your pocket, thats why I love having a phone that's a few generations back, still an awesome device but you can pick them up for peanuts secondhand. I have an iPhone 13 currently which was R5k secondhand, great camera, all day battery, if it breaks or gets stolen it'd suck but hardly be a train smash.

How much is all risks insurance these days on a R30k iPhone?

Thats at 8% so still massively overpriced in SA and compared to the rest of the world
