Creating a thread for discussion.

With the announcement made i was pretty excited but when watching the live streams from blizzcon i got a bit concerned with the look and feel of it. After watch the deepdive it all made a lot more sense and looks pretty impressive with the changes they made to talents and professions.

Think the gameplay is going to be amazing and just a but more useful for all classes and alt characters.

Share you thoughts.

Also anyone going to opt into the BETA?

From my side not going to do that. $60 is a bit hefty just for BETA access. But i will be following the story with streamers for sure.

Its a cash-in, they can't make WoW2 because a) that'd be a ton of effort/money, b) it might not work and c) it'll kill main WoW, so its not worth the risk.

Instead of taking any risk they instead take old products and use language like re-imagining and being able to tell new stories yada yada. In reality they're just dressing up old products with a new skin and selling them as premium.

The Warcraft 3 expansion is pretty much the same, its a ridiculously priced item for an old product that almost no one plays. Of all their games it was StarCraft that launched the modern e-sports, but there's no mention of that history on stage. Instead of making a new RTS they're instead going to try for the 3rd time to pivot to an FPS which is fine in principle. But you can see they spent probably 3 months on the trailer whereas its doubtful that there's any gameplay as of yet...so its just all marketing stunt.

I'm stoked about the controller support - future console release maybe.

If I do play I will play for a month or so and see if it's worth it. But from I have seen so far is it's a very very long term version, account wide perks for leveling X amounts of classes and professions etc. The longer you invest time the more reward you get.

I agree and also don't agree.

Yes it is to hard to make WoW2 but this is a nice new fresh classic experience people have been asking for a long time. So happy to see it happy. Yes there is the bundle you can buy and BETA access money grab. But if you like me and just wait till release it is the same $15 bucks a month i pay now anyway. So worth it in my opinion.

Will be watching the BETA closely

You horde or alliance ?

There are some videos now for the Blizzcon demo - looks good.

I have not played WoW since Cataclysm and the days of the Prohecy guild. However, this really peaked my interest and I am going to give it a bash when released in November. My Macbook Air M5 is in for a big surprise. ;)

I have a good idea that Forever will be a good cash cow going forward for Blizzard. Allegedly, they have been working on this since 2020, but the pre-planning phases could be from before that time.

Something new at Blizzard is the third-party crossovers. Now that CDPR games will be sold on Battle (.net), this seems to be co-marketing leverage for the Blizzard Entertainment IPs. It could also potentially hint at CDPR being in talks of being acquired, not in full, but the signs are there. This is such a random event that there must be talks of numbers. Technically it would then be an XBOX acquisition... Don't quote me on this.

WoW Forever Beta going live today at 7:30 PM for us.

You can opt-in, maybe you get lucky.
