All DStv’s new packages and prices revealed

So interesting this. Premium is claimed to be 135+ channels, Compact+ 120+ channels based on their website. Don't know why the + and not exact figures, maybe they've set up the value proposition along those lines. But Compact+ is only missing a few premium channels like some sports and MNet and such. Movies & Series and Sports are both now branded as 115+ channels and Premium 130+ so still a lot of overlap and we'll have to wait and see but perhaps Movies & Series won't be missing that much from Compact+.

They don't say the exact number of channels because the channel line-ups keep changing over time and there are regular temporary pop-up channels etc throughout the year.

They can't keep changing their ads and marketing to say now it's 148 channels and tomorrow it's 139 and next week it's 144.

So the day has almost arrived, the "new" package structures and channel changes (some maybe unknown) should land on (some of :p) our doorsteps overnight tonight.

A corner they've turned and that they can't turn back from, but where will it lead?

Now looking forward to December..... ! (And maybe some Black Friday stuff)

That's actually on point.
I've personally stopped watching rugby, maybe people should boycott this clear cash grab but that would never happen.
I stopped watching it yet there's always someone here who tells me that the only reason they have DSTV Premium is for Springbok rugby and somehow I'm the fool for refusing to watch that ruck and maul nonsense.

Only time I make an effort to watch rugby, is when we play world cup or New Zealand

Premium called "130+" or even "135+" elsewhere is strangely low this month though, it's around 148 (/ 152 on satellite) now with just 4 chs. being removed tonight.

Maybe someone using old info. Or more drama coming
🤷‍♂️

I went to a primary school that had every sport except rugby, then went to a small high school that had no sport. So me and rugby were never formally introduced, so I have very little interest in rugby as a result.

So I also don't feel compelled to shell out to watch rugby, lol

The changes are live and I must say even though the starter package is very minimal you do get some decent entertainment for R99 per month. Some Athletics, Sail GP, Lots of football and some half decent entertainment channels.

A few other things noticed that weren't announced;

Gone are the overdone SuperSport logos  , now small, white and transparent. They're a bit too small to read detail on a smaller screen, but tough :p
Can't say the same for M-Net's movie channels - now in black (looks ok on M-Net itself), the logos are certainly too big..

And two of the channels that had been excluded from some larger packages are now included - 134 BBC UK TV and 158 Moja 9.9
They forgot the 110 backup channel - some of these people watch the older soapies as well.

Managed to switch my dad's premium decoder subscription which was R979 + the access fee which came down to R1104 in total, to an all in for R799 x 24 months decoder subscription through the Dashboard on the menu when logged in.

DONE.
Great Stuff!

PS: With Premium Decoder subscription you get 2 anywhere streams as well.
