BEE is a white tax and one of the biggest obstacles to economic growth in South Africa

I agree with the statement "biggest obstacles to economic growth" but I don't agree with the "White Tax" as any company that has to adhere to BEE means customers are paying for it and those customers are the entire population potentially.

Take for example your internet service provider, they now have to have a BEE ownership component which means dividends and profit share have to be shared with the BEE partners which means costs go up to cover this and ALL customers end up paying more. In the larger ISP's there were dividends before, but the majortity of ISP's in South Africa are 1 owner or a family run business they never had to share dividends or profit with anyone else, so they could compete on price before. Now they have to give away 30% of their business on a promise and a whim and pay over dividends each year to retain this BEE partner to retain the ECNS and ECS licenses.
 
Look around, policies like BEE have decimated the economy over the last few decades, add governments corruption, ineptitude and plain down ignorance and the country has been in a downwards spiral for 30 years.
