Play Catan in 2 player mode with your spouse lol. I'm on the hunt for more co-op games. Far safer

Played 2 player Smash Up with my wife. Once. Sat in the cupboard for 5+ years until my son was old enough to play and now it is safer and a family favourite.

How do you rate wingspan as a game? I wish they'd do an African kit. Maybe I should do my own.

We really enjoy it and regularly play it. Bought the Oceania expansion recently which adds interesting new mechanics.

Some are fake on Takealot, some have been good. I've gotten both from them, so mixed bag.

There are a few decent Boardgame shops you can try which offer online and have physical stores, Timeless Boardgames (have used, they're good and they sell 2nd hand too), Nexus hub I assume has online, and there's probably a few more to recommend.

unfortunately our boardgames are pricey, I assume because of shipping weight, vs what you see on Amazon UK/US etc.

I think it's all relative. Better value than some digital games for sure IMO.

Yes, I 100% prefer analogue games with friends. Not such a fan of playing boardgames in digital form, guess it tells me that half the fun is from the friends over the game itself..

Gave up on Carcassonne. The scoring at the end is tedious and it feels like everyone just loses interest at that point.

For a quick, more kid-friendly game I much prefer Kingdomino...

Our group once played Carcassonne with all the expansions found in that big box collection at the same time out of morbid curiosity.

Never again. Took forever to complete the game and was near impossible to keep track of everything. Game is....ok. I'd never suggest it but if someone wanted to play it, then I would
