Just checked on eHome Affairs and I still cannot apply for the smart id card.

LOL. It is quite straightforward process though? I know of many who did it at different banks. I don't see what is stopping people from acquiring it.

Because some of us are still not able to get one.

2-year warning for anyone with Green ID books in South Africa

South Africans who still use the old green bar-coded identity document have been warned to replace it with a smart ID card within the next two years.

A lot can happen in two years - me getting a SmartID won't be one of them

Yeah, I meant it for SA citizens. Many PR's can't get it yet.

I'm an SA citizen, who happens to be a naturalised. I still can't get one.
