Is this as meaningless as previous ones? I remember republicans in the senate reversing the last one after a pep talk from Trump.

Most polls indicate the Iran conflict is not popular with the public, Trump would like it to go away before midterms so he can claim "a win" republicans (bar the Trump fan die hard's) in congress will have this in mind.

Also, I'm guessing he will just ignore congress like has been done with the Epstein files and nobody is gonna do anything about it.
