Ha ha ha ha ha, I got that reference.

We're lucky, the one pretty decent butcher one town over (which borders directly on ours) does free delivery over R1000. With my using biltong (which I make) to hit my protein goals R1000 order from a butchery is easy. 3 choppies en halwe kilo mince and you basically hit R1000 without blinking. lolI do venture to the butcher when I’ve planned ahead, but the butcher inside our Checkers and the local Food Lovers isn’t bad either if you go to them and select what you want.
Yep, and heavily spiced stuff. As mentioned above, some shops definitely use it as a "die kak begin oud raak, Texan time". And you never know until it's 3am and you're calling George on the white megaphone. The danger is the pre-packaged stuff.
When I buy meat (from any store), I often take a few packets from the fruit and veg section, and then I open up the packaging of the meat I intend to buy, shove my nose in there, take a huge whiff, if it stinksWait I'm seeing a lot of complaints about Checkers here... I thought they were the golden shop? Well I mean according to some

Oncologist advised this treatment for... .food poisoning? Really?Actually from my oncologist
Welcome to that lekker Plaas Wors special!Well there is your problem , meat with marinate or flavouring .
Many years ago , i had a mate that worked in a butchery in a Supermarket. He warned me about ever buying meat with coating , or pre-spiced etc , as that is the "end of life" meat that is most often used , and the spices/coating helps the supermarket stretch out the life of products to sell.
And while not all is off or liable to make you ill, its best not play the odds.
Always buy fresh from butcher or deli, and spice/marinade it your self.
Ok, ja... probably the food.not sure of the time frame - cooked and ate around 8pm on sat.
felt odd around midnight or so - thought indigestion, had some citrisoda.
around 3am things started happening.
by sun, 8am all mayhem had broken loose.
felt like death around 10am - called for help from a friend - go to pharmacy etc.
by 5pm i was wishing for a coffin - called gp.
Thats me every time. 1-2 days of pooping and not eating and i can eat my bodyweight in junk food.mon 10am, craving kfc
Ok... makes sense.gp is more nervous than me - i'm on a multitude of cardiac and copd meds
as with the op had a bad experience with checkers pork and chicken many years ago at least realised it before eating any of it switched over to a meatworld branch only buy meats from there now been over 5 years probably well when im actually like really home but the large freezer works soWe've also found an alarming increase in personal food poisoning incidents, seems to be a reflection of poor service these days, in bad hygiene I suspect but could also be food production / transport.
As a result we've become far more selective about where we shop.
Can relate to the munchies after a bout of food poisoning but only when it’s properly over.ive developed an aversion for hospitals - cardiac issues, heart attacks & surgeries - so i to try to avoid as far as reasonably possible.
very bizarrely, when the spuitpoep & upchucking came to an end, i had the munchies - and was thirsty.
the munchies - a craving for kfc.
ordered kfc and cola from mr.d
ate the greasy crispy skin off the outside of the kfc, guzzled 2 x 300ml cans of coke - - and a couple of hours later i was up and about again
not having bacteria in you gut isn't a good thingMy cure is BIOSIL COLLOIDAL SILVER, get it at Dischem, 2 teaspoons in the morning and by afternoon you're good. That silver kills all bacteria
