Finished it yesterday and overall it is a great game. Very much James Bond.
Loved the combat, stealth gameplay was pretty nice (not perfect), gadgets, great action, locations and set pieces, music and destructible environments during melee fights lol. Which makes melee fights a lot of fun.
The story I found a bit weak and uninteresting much like Tomorrow Never Dies. There the main bad guy tried to conquer the world by controlling the flow of information through the media. Here in First Light the bad guy tries to control the flow of information though his corrupt and buggy AI system. In both the movie and the game the main villains are a bit bland. I do like the blond twins though. They at least are very typical Bond villains.
Lenny Kravitz I thought was bizarre. He decapitates people for breaking rules in his pirate city and he tries to feed Bond to his pet crocodiles. But in the end he sort of becomes a Bond ally and he later saves Bond's life. Almost as if developers or writers were too afraid to harm Kravitz or to kill him off. The "real" Bond would have ended up feeding Kravitz to his own crocodiles lol. And then Kravitz just completely disappears from the story just like that. Yes, I know there's an upcoming dlc all about Kravitz's character, but still. I bet they'll turn him into a good guy.
He's not the only one to completely disappear from the story though. Cressida (who I thought will be the main Bond girl) simply disappears from the story as well after the hotel bombing. Never to be seen or heard from again.
Most characters are pretty cool. Q is far better than the Q from the Daniel Craig movies and so too is Moneypenny, the main Bond girl Isola is pretty interesting, and Greenway who I hated at first, ended up being not so bad at all. Also really liked Monroe and Cressida. M sucks though. One of the worst characters.
Vehicle sections need a bit more work in future games. There is one very short, very uneventful car chase, one boat chase where you're not really doing anything, a short but destructive drive though some London alleyways in a garbage truck and a chaotic drive though a quarry/mine in one of those massive mining trucks. The latter being one of the best, most over the top but very Bond parts of the game.
Overall it is a great game and the best Bond game ever made. Lots of little easter eggs and nods to the movies or books. The game looks, sounds and plays like a Bond movie. Nice Bond song as well at the start. Bond himself is also an excellent James Bond. Cocky, arrogant, stylish and still very much a ladies man.
Would recommend for any Bond fan like myself
