And ATM. How the heck does that 1% party have representation in more municipalities than MK. Something dodgy definitely going on there.

And how does ASA not feature on the list at all with all that Oppenheimer money - probably throwing everything at the few that they are standing in. Risky strategy, could pay off very well or go horribly wrong for them...

Some of it is just hope, remember how the AIC from Matatiele benefitted from being confused with the ANC and ended up being represented in a number of Gauteng municipalities.

So it's a matter of being out there and hoping for the best, while for parties like MK it might be about targeting specific municipalities.

Makes sense, until you factor in the money required to contest so many municipalities...

Forget that, look who's second. Chair of the entity that let trash accumulate everywhere and turned the townships into what look like war zones, wants to run every other aspect of the city.

No thought even given to the reputation of their candidates, they aren't even trying anymore...

Okay, I will.

In 2006 the ANC was intact and got over 66% in the election. The DA got just over 16%.

In 2009 COPE broke away, in 2013, the EFF, in 2023 the MK. Not even bothering about the small splinter parties.

By the 2024 election the ANC has lost more than 26% of its support and the DA only gained 6%.

That is what failure looks like.

Now my question, is the DA still going to fail even when the ANC is not represented?

A very strange way of looking at things. A 6% gain is failure but a 26% drop isn't.

If the RETards went off to EFF and MK because the ANC was too capitalist, they were never going to go to the evil WMC DA. A gain is a gain, I'm sure the ANC would love that 6% right about now...

Yes, like a person used to getting 30% in a test suddenly getting 33%, it is a joyous occasion.

So basically, you’re celebrating the complete collapse of your party because one of your enemies didn’t grow in the same proportion to your own collapse.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been booked off from public engagements due to ill health on the advice of his medical team, his office said on Wednesday.

Ramaphosa, 73, returned to the country on Monday after attending the Brics leaders’ summit in India and was advised to rest and recover, his office said.

The statement said he had asked cabinet ministers to represent him at scheduled public events where possible, without saying how long he might be out of action.

Deputy president Paul Mashatile is also resting on the advice of his doctors after a medical procedure.

International relations & co-operation minister Ronald Lamola will lead South Africa’s delegation to this year’s UN General Assembly in Ramaphosa’s absence, the SABC reported.

Lamola will arrive in the US at a time of renewed diplomatic tensions after the US imposed visa restrictions on some South Africans over what it called race-based discrimination.

US President Donald Trump’s administration has claimed SA’s white Afrikaner minority is being persecuted.

SA rejects that, saying there is no evidence of discrimination against whites and that it has a right to put in place policies to address the legacy of centuries of racial injustice.
