Other than just being part of the ANC alliance are these guys relevant at all? Do they have anybody that's know to the public?

I suspect less than 1% completely irrelevant.

How does he even find himself as one of the top candidates on the DA list after all this? And not like the allegations are new, how long do disciplinary processes take in the DA?

Because from where I am standing it looks like the DA has been stalling so that everyone forgets about him so that they can squeeze him somewhere.

DA could be seen as Islamophobic so they are being cagey about it. Just my guess.

It's a bit odd that he is so high up - basically a guaranteed job given the DA's expected vote share in the CoCT and I would like him removed. I think ultimately he will be removed. He's causing too much controversy for the DA I think.

The funny thing about the degree claims are if you studied at UCT (and lots of people within the DA have done so), you'd easily know how to check the verification of the degree through working out the student number (which follows a particular formula and is easy to work out) and then inputting the student number on the UCT website to verify the degree. In fact, let me do that right now!

Edit: I'm quite confident this guy has no degree at all. He was on the Dean's Merit List while studying medicine in 2013 and then obtained a class medal for a course in 2016 (first in the class), but it's a different degree programme. There's no record of him receiving either degree.
