The official Mikrotik router thread

In a interesting predicament at the moment.
Recently used Netinstall to 'format reload' my Mikrotik and loaded a version on there.
It says that a newer version is available for install/ upgrade - but it downloads, installs and then reboots back to the same version.
AI says it is the 'mode" that is set incorrectly, and t set a terminal command, reboot then the upgrade will be possible.
Tried maybe 20x now to get it upgraded.. FML lol
The old npk is not perhaps in the files directory?

I must have screwed something up, cant even update to the Beta

Try netinstall again, but if you have, place a dumb switch between your PC and the Tik.

Sounds dumb, I know, but I once had to get my HeX S out of a boot loop and that was the only way it worked. Direct PC -> Tik was giving all sorts of hassles, but as soon as I put a dumb nonmanaged switch between them, it worked like a charm.

There was some chatter on the Mikrotik forums, it seems like they released 7.24.3, then pulled it because of the LTE modem firmware, and then published 7.24.4 as a remedy. I am not sure how long .3 was out for before it got pulled

Look.... no vendor is perfect - none of them - but Mikrotik's CVE list has been chock full of terrible revelaitons for years.

They clearly don't care. They make garbage. They know they make garbage. They know their client base doesn't care that their product is garbage. Why fix anything?
