All DStv’s new packages and prices revealed

Just checked. The new logos suck imo. The movie logos are way too big and black logos simply look very strange. Don't think I've ever seen black logos on tv before tbh. Half of the time movies have dark backgrounds so you can't even see the logos. It just becomes an annoyance. Not to mention that some movies have those black bars at the top and bottom of the screen making black logos totally invisible and useless lmao. Black logos do not work, don't know which genius thought of that idea.

And I think the white Supersport logos look bad as well. Keep it red.

Maybe a cultural thing. The M-Net staff have always been a bit over the top, to be polite... put it down to their brand of creativity ;- )

SuperSport - wouldn't like red myself, too loud. Maybe blue

I think the black is basically just a Canal+ identity.

Looking at the Premium vs Sports package, they did cut out a lot of premium sport for just R199 less per month.

I've had the full DSTV bouquet streaming package for many years now. I don't pay for it, a family member worked at MultiChoice since the very beginning in the 80s and retired there so has lifelong free or cheap access( I don't even remember anymore)which they donot use and consequently "gifted" to me!!

Other than rugby, cricket and soccer world cup time nobody at all ever watches DSTV in my household.

(Edited - more packages were affected ^^ )

Weirdly 158 was also added to the usually ignored and now partially hidden EasyView package. But they did lose their only music channel, so seems fair.


One other change - so many alterations have normally resulted in some chaos to the services for days, not this time....

Well that explains the black, though not the size..

As for white SS logos, based on debates seen for about 20 years about it many will like them enough. Not that they're likely to get changed again anyway.
 
Seems like if you stay subscribed to Compact Plus you will be able to get sport for a certain period and then need move to another package. Perhaps 12 months

What sport, more of it than you had?
It should certainly have what's on the Sports package now added, so things like all cricket, that's only fair.

Most likely is it will become like the terrestrial version of M-Net - still working for those who've kept subscribed, for decades now. But no new subs possible, nor up or downgrades I would think.
 
Meh, I watch sport for free so doesn't matter to me. Kicked out DSTV a long time ago.

Springbok rugby, F1, etc

Apparently some subscribers have received emails informing them thereof.

I must ask the missus as she uses Dstv
 
The entire theme has now been changed to black and white. Even kyknet and mnet logos are now black. Terrible idea. Half of the time you can't see the logos.

The only thing I would question is if carte blanche on sunday evenings is worth R500 per month spend. Probably a kyknet tax.
 
344 Church TV and 415 France 24 (news in English) have just been added.

DStv used to have France 24 years back.
