tap.

Since I need my drivers, ID, medical aid card and all that plastic shops make you carry around I keep it all in my wallet along with a tiny turtle and the occasional physical cash that I end up with.

Cash and tap with my phone.

My watch is also tap but I tend to forget.

Edit. Having some cash on hand is always a good idea, esp in SA.

Super cards app eliminated some of cards for me. Dischem, Builders, BP garage, checkers, clicks, makro, pnp and spar. You can also add host of other cards and remove plastic from wallet.

What do you mean?
Ok 1 example.

Went to Checkers the past weekend.

Got my doug and worsies.
Went to the 10 items or less.

Stood quite a few minutes in the queue.

We were 4th.

Clients 1st at the till took 5 minutes after their last scanned items to fully pay using their cellphone.
Tannie third in line stripped her moer and went to that small kiosk, which in turn had 2 people in line, whom were paying by cellphone.

So we became third in line which then resulted in us becoming 2nd in line.
Jasis, oke in front pays with cellphone, 5 minutes for him to pay.

Anyway, we paid by card which took the normal 15-20 seconds.

Passed the tannie that stripped her moer. She was second in line.

Get to Shoprite, needless to say the lines were long and no, it was not payday.

I see exactly the same thing, the idiot with his phone trying to first find the app/whatever and then struggling to tap and everbody getting the moer in. And then it declines...

Oh, so you mean it's technologically challenged people who don't know how to use it properly. Guess that's fair.

Takes me literally like 2 seconds to tap with my phone or watch, and I'm normally waiting for the machine and not the other way around.

What I have also noted was both voucher and payment on phone.

So first scan the voucher on the app.
Then open the banking app to pay.

Yeah the idea is great. But I hate the system as this is how it is being used.

You can add those to your phone / watch. I binned all my plastic cards.

I'm thinking this could be a money making thing. What if you stand behind the guy at the till and grab his phone as he tries to tap and run out of the shop with it. His banking app is open and yours to play with...
