MyBB'ers in the United Kingdom & Ireland

It probably wouldn't affect the premium but I'd imagine it would be excluded for a certain period of time.
BUPA through work outright said that we'd be covered for pre-existing conditions, which was a major bonus (and one of the main reasons I signed up) because I have a cardiac history. Had something to do with it being a corporate plan. Most insurers afaik will still let you sign up, but won't cover treatment for pre-existing conditions or, like you said, exclude you for a lengthy period of time.

Yeah the corporate plans are often free of underwriting.

Following on from this, landlord had given us his asking price which is reasonable but we lowballed an offer(who pays full price, right) which he accepted in minutes(we’re working a deal through the agent). Great but at the same time the quick acceptance makes me think we should have gone lower. :D
Starting the paperwork now.
3 long months later and our house purchase will be finalised shortly.
Nothing about it was difficult at all. Mortgage and insurances were done in a matter of days but the solicitors just dragged out the process.
Anyway, deeds signed, deposits paid and we “get the keys” on the 28th.

Cannot wait.

Congrats!
The process for us was not difficult at all. Just takes time.

Thank you. Yeah the process was simple, just had to ride solicitors to keep things moving.
Haemorrhaging funds though. Deposit + fees and also moved my eldest into a flat in London + the years uni fees.

Going to take some time to recover. :)

Grats!

Also, think you've discovered the joys of the British "property chain".

Thank you.
No chain. Owned by the same people from when it was built who own a bunch of rental properties.
I don’t know what “searches” are but that was what we waited the longest for. Left them to it for 2 months but was advised to stay on the solicitors arse to keep things moving. Which seemingly worked.

Thank you.

Searches take time. Ours took a while too.

Just got an online quote with them... looking at £180pm if I go for a £100 excess with unlimited out-patient cover. Thankfully the wife has a good BMI so she gets a 10% discount... my fat ass needs to keep losing weight to get to a BMI under 25 to get the same discount. But I fear she will leave me if I get too lean (she likes me a little fluffy LOL)
Bupa. The £100 excess is real.

Unlimited care, just pay the 1st £100

The chains are the bastards. Like 10 different transactions all have to go through at the same time and if one person pulls out they all collapse.

Then you get some wanker in the middle of the chain telling everyone else he's 20k short and everyone needs to help him out or it's all going to hell.

Searches are things like checking deeds registries, doing flood risk assessments, checking for chancel tax risk etc.

Wife's colleague has also previously gotten stuck because the person she was buying from hadn't found anything yet.
