Free upgrade for DStv Compact Plus customers in South Africa

Yeah. I’m still sharing a “Premium” subscription with my brother - we pay half and half. He’s in Durban and I’m in Pretoria. It’s still expensive but better than paying the full price. He keeps the decoder and I use the streaming option. After 4 years of this, I haven’t had any issues except once or twice a year I have to log in again. I wish I could just cancel but my wife and kids would have me on the chopping block :cautious:…

Fibre operators do it too. Super duper cheap entry level R300/pm packages but existing customers cannot downgrade their R600/pm packages to it, only new customers get it.
 
And nobody knows how long this temp upgrade will go on, lol.

Asked how long Compact Plus customers will receive the full DStv Premium experience, MultiChoice said there was no fixed end date in mind yet.

“This arrangement will continue on a month-to-month basis, and any future changes will be communicated clearly to affected customers,” MultiChoice said.

I guess it's one way to keep a few tens (or maybe hundreds :unsure:) of thousands of subscribers onboard 🤷‍♂️
 
I enjoyed watching England thrash Sri Lanka yesterday as we get the Cricket channel now. I'm not complaining about the Sports package as I have almost everything I want sports wise now but I would like more URC games than one. It's perfectly fine if they show delayed 30 minute edited games on the same day.
