Took us a while to get to this point, but we have finally pulled the trigger on a solar PV system at home. Installation has been scheduled for October 1st and 2nd 2026, and we've gone with the following components:
1x Victron Multiplus II 8 kVA
1x Victron Cerbo GX
2x Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/60
12x JA Solar 465W solar panels
1x Dyness 16 kWh battery
Went with two MPPT units due to the planned layout of the panels (one array almost true north, the other WNW). According to the Victron MPPT calculator, our winter yield should fall just shy of our 15 kWh/day electricity consumption, and the rest of the year we should be ahead. Also, the 465W panels were chosen due to size constraints... 560 / 600 W panels would have been nice, but then the array would hang over the edge of the roof.
Can't wait for the installation to be completed now.
Some changes made prior to final signoff on the proposed system:
Installed a Geyserwala in place of the Geyserwise Delta T
Installed a Sonoff POW CT power meter to measure peak power draw and daily usage.
