South Africans are poorer today than they were in 2008

South Africans are poorer in 2026 than they were in 2008, as declining economic growth has fallen behind the country's escalating population rate.

Ernst Roets once said whites are on average richer than during Apartheid. It is the poor that is getting poorer and really suffering.

For decades now the gap between rich and poor has been becoming bigger and bigger. During Apartheid we had our own form of partial socialism, notably regulations to keep food prices low which benefitted black and white. Now we are facing circumstances which "justifies" Marxism.

I think the influx in the urban areas ruined many things since people from rural areas aren't keen to do agricultural activities, the only way to keep food prices down is to have a garden other than that we drowning ourselves into debt
