So I've been buying Nemtek electric fence 'timed lights' for the fence. Its quite a long stretch of fence and includes a car park area.
Ive got around 7 lights on the fence in various areas so if you are in the kitchen you can see a couple, or from the office, or the deck, car park etc.
Its so my staff can see at a quick glance if there is a problem somewhere when they are working or walking around.
The energiser is a Druid 114. Now some of the lights after a few months fail, Ive taken a couple back and had swop outs and when I went to the shop the other day I asked the guy if these lights are maybe only rated for certain voltages. He said no, you can use them on any fence (apparently the blue ones are for the stranded wire like at home and the black ones for the solid strand wire such as in a game reserve).
He then asked how many I have on the fence and when I told him the amount he said you cant have more than 4 on a fence in any zone (my fence, although a long stretch is just one zone).
Does this sound correct? The justification was that it creates too much resistance and voltage drop.
(I should add that the lights do have polarity and are wired in as such.)
