I've been a client of theirs for 3 desktop computers over the past few years.

For a very long time they were the best place to get components that could be hard sourcing in South Africa, bought plenty of stuff from them. But I suppose now that it is so easy getting almost anything imported along with the RAM and storage prices physical computer stores, especially the smaller ones must be suffering a lot

I have been there once and that was a few months back, great people and excellent assistance in the store, pity they are shutting down but yea the new titans are evetech and wootware.

I did enjoy the experience (went to get a PSU and ended up with a keyboard as well) of walking around a physical pc components store for a change instead of purchasing online or (evetech) asking a cashier then waiting in a back room for the item I just purchased to be brought to me.

The market is in a very bad spot at the moment. A lot of things are culminating all at once, causing absolute chaos. The most obvious is AI, which is pushing up hardware prices with seemingly no end in sight. Then you have the influx of Chinese sellers flooding the market, who, more often than not, sell products without ICASA/NRCS certification. Couple that with the ever-increasing trend of local hardware distributors going directly to market and undercutting their own resellers, and you have a recipe for disaster.

As far as I am aware, he isn't originally from tappit valley. He later moved to kempton that makes him a fake......I was born and raised, hell even born in the now defunct kempton park hospital....

Ha, so was my wife, then she moved elsewhere for 20+ years. We now live about 3km from it.

Same is happening with my local Matrix Warehouse, they had a very large store & distribution center here for many years, I often used them for stuff I needed immediately

They recently moved to what I can only describe as a Broom Closet in one of the local malls, its literally only a few square meters so they basically have 3 shelves to store and showcase products

I went for a case fan, they had 1 in stock, was a schite one as well costing R850 for no better performance than a R80 generic model, because name brands and RGB I suppose.
