Probe launched after video allegedly shows Hanover Park health workers intoxicated

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is investigating a video allegedly showing two people believed to work at Hanover Park Community Health Centre appearing intoxicated.

Allegations that two Hanover Park healthcare workers were drunk while on duty have sparked concern among residents, with the provincial Health Department now investigating.

A video circulating on social media appears to show a man and woman allegedly intoxicated at the Hanover Park taxi rank on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

In the video, one bystander can be heard saying: “Dis daarom wat hulle elke keer die f****** verkeerde pille vir mense gee.” (That is why they keep dispensing the wrong medication.)
