This is an absolutely horrific story...
It's sickening. This seems to be coming more and more to the fore in that wonderful land known as 'Murica.
Hazing and all that is becoming quite unpopular of late as more and more such occurrences are reported.

It's been going on forever. It was even documented in an episode of Buffy 30 years ago - season 2 episode 5

It came to my attention about 5 years ago reading about another statistic, where a man got paralyzed or killed.... can't remember. His family sued the pants off the university and the perpetrators. When I remember where I read that I'll post it here..

well, the DA is finally investigating...

Cornell needs massive sanction for covering this up. I mean for ****'s sakes... ESSAYS?!
1500 words absolves you of being a rapist obviously.

I mean how the actual fsck did the University even vaguely attempt to deal with this without involving proper law enforcement is beyond me.

Happened in October 2024 but only surfaced now or was it only reported now or has this been ongoing for 2 years and nothing has been done?

Also why sue, meant to file charges...

She reported the incident and the response was below..

“Based on the group chat evidence, it was obvious that the complaint warranted an investigation and criminal charges against the involved abusers,” Giuffra told The Independent. “Instead Ms. Doe heard nothing.”

The Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office stated that after conducting “a thorough review of the police investigation,” officials determined “there was insufficient evidence to support criminal charges.”

Well if you don't deal with rapists as young men, then you eventually get rapists as president... It's a sick culture of protecting "their own".

They was good boys
It's up there with that other kid who was protected from rape consequences because he was good at sports.

Outrage at the sentencing was compounded by a letter from Turner's father suggesting his son's life stood to be "altered forever" and argued he should not be jailed for "20 minutes of action".

What does this horrible crime have to do with hazing?
