D-day for people with rooftop solar in South Africa

Nope city power don't prescribe to this and you would still need to pay for their expensive meter and go post paid to pay R1300 in fees a month before even touching a unit.

"“People often ask me: What should they do?"

Lot's of dumb f**ks are going to comply and I hope they get what's coming to them when the milking starts.

If you still have to ask such idiotic questions when you're decades into living in a failed state you should really just pack your s**t and f**k off overseas because all you're doing is funding the destruction of the rest of us, which makes you worse than the regime pushing the paperwork.

I'm far below the 100kW threshold (which is the maximum allowable without NERSA registration) and I have a lawful CoC so I'll be following OUTA's advice on this one - which is to do FOKOL.

Dude, even if you generated megawatts, f**k them.
Allowing anyone to generate energy should be a fundamental human right and there's f-all reason for the state to be involved unless it's enforcing safety measures to protect others or publicly owned infrastructure.

Agreed, fsck them indeed, but this is them chancing. Who the hell has 100kWp+ sitting on their roof at home? The NERSA thing applies to shopping centers etc.

not going to happen - very soon someone will take them to court and call their bluff

eskom & municipality have no jurisdiction on my property!

You don't have a registered system in Commie Cape Town?

If we do the exact same as we did with etolls the exact same thing will happen. Nothing. I refuse. The anger I feel towards the incompetence of how the ANC ran Eskom into the ground, begged us to reduce load via stuff like solar, and are now trying to punish us for their failures.....

Even with my solar providing 70% of my power my electricity bill is now higher than it was when I installed solar 5 years ago. I have no more space to put up additional panels so I am unfortunately tied to using CoJ for now at least partially but I wish I was able to just cut the cable and show them the middle finger.

Eskom
i have a strange suspicion my solar system will remain working tomorrow and for the next ten years

registration request denied

*If you pay me double the rate to insert power into the grid, please return to the table

Just use a generator for the rainy days and cut the cord.

Panel wattage has increased for the same amount of real estate at lower the price you paid 5 years ago
