Don't be mean. She likely suffers from angioedema. Can be hereditary and permanent, but more likely from drugs, allergic reactions, or injections like Botox or HA. Occam's razor would dictate that someone's knocked her around for being irritating.

By 1950, only 2,000 cases were reported.

By 1951, malaria was considered eliminated altogether from the country and the CDC gradually withdrew from active participation in the operational phases of the program, shifting its interest to surveillance. Granted, but there are many different species of mosquitoes. All pretty much serve one purpose to a large degree. In your example above, CDC'a goal was to eradicate malaria by killing malaria-causing mosquitoes.

Killing those mosquitoes without any form of study (woke) is recipe for possible disaster.

DDT was a broad spectrum insecticide.
