Yes, just like they're OK with using western modes of transport, but won't obey traffic laws and traffic lights because as they've said in the past.. "these road rules are apartheid road rules and we don't obey them"So lemme get this straight, black people are against anything apartheid right, but when it comes to collecting monies using apartheid mechanisms then its ok???
Was that really said :OYes, just like they're OK with using western modes of transport, but won't obey traffic laws and traffic lights because as they've said in the past.. "these road rules are apartheid road rules and we don't obey them"
Yes... media years ago quoting taxi drivers questioned about why they drive like absolute tossheads. Was that really said :O
Someboday got paid a lot of smackaroos for this crazy plan, some "benefit" was derived from it!If they got more than R10k in from that i would be surprised. the vast majority will never pay, and watch anyway, the horse was long out of the stable, because SABC did not do the simple thing in the digital transformation, and make the decoders all encrypted, with the key being your license number to get a per device unlock, like Multichoice does as a pay TV owner. emedia would have been able to grab a chunk of market share, as they could simply have had a signing key for their channels, separate from SABC, and not have cared about SABC license to enable decoders. simple, easy and you use all existing pay TV infrastructure and billing systems, just the renewal is annual, and the fee is the license fee, all covered already.
Maybe time for some honest investigation into what the SABC used to collect in advertising and how much 'Cloudys' reign really cost them. I will never pay a TV license fee of any kind again. The simple reality is that the ANC is a known entity and its reputation is in the gutter, no one in their right mind is going to willingly bow to their extortion fees and knowingly support corruption and looting. The ANC were big mouth about the "user pays" principle, let them eat their words now. E-tolls and TV licenses already taught the people that they have a lot more power than the government does.
Don't understand what you are getting at. Everyone pays taxes to their respective government in one form or another, that will never change. That said when paying what is due becomes a money grab you can start to push back in a limited number of cases and It is a good idea to do so.You also don't buy fuel, food and/or pay for rates&taxes, etc?
TV licenses and e-tolls are a vast minority of the amounts you pay due to the ANC.
