Jehovah's Witness lifts ban on blood transfusions

ok, willing buyer - sell me that piece of blue sky, convince me i should buy
Oh dear. You already bought it... Malthusian Eugenicists are not a phenomenon afflicting the modern era.

You know what they say.... there's one born every second.

At least you are somewhat distancing yourself from their ideas......

... that is not nothing.

I guess the only thing that remains is to get into what those ideas actually are.... and see if any of what is happening today strikes a cord.

My guess is Brian_G's foretelling will come to fruition before the chips are allowed to fall.

So the following paragraph is slightly misleading, then...

... since JWs have not changed their position at all on the longstanding type of blood transfusions that have been taking place.

Whole blood: Still a no go!

Geeezaaaaz!!!!

How does one fire a media organiztion?
I think generally “things changed a bit but not completely” doesn’t quite sell for news lol.

Maybe you get a cut.. :p

i have no idea as to what you are talking about.

going back to the 70s my family lived in Mauritius for a few years - my father's company was involved with the re-development of port louis harbour.

after that back here, he owned a company formed in conjunction with the stategic fuel fund to handle the import of crude oil during the oil embargo against this country at the time

all the above is well documented across this forum.

not sure where you get the ambassador idea from - perhaps some confusion with the photo posted here of me and al gore having a laugh about to board airforce2

Couldn't remember his "position" in politics so made a bold presumption (didn't realise it was business-only). But as with anyone in polite society, our surrounds do influence.

My guess is Brian_G's foretelling will come to fruition before the chips are allowed to fall.

My hope is rather that enough people are seeing something isn't quite right, to put a stop to it. Won't be painless though

no, not yet - sell harder

the irony is breathtaking

i believe in human freedom and choice a whole lot more that you may think.
ive been sprayed purple, locked up in a multitude of police stations, detained in both pollsmoor and westville prisons - for going out there in opposition of autocratic and oppressive authority.
i've placed myself at the risk of being sought for high treason.

what can you place on the table beside keyboard waffle ?

ask away

For those who don't know

Modern neo-Malthusianism and contemporary eugenics intersect through ideas that frame poverty, overpopulation, and social inequality as biological or demographic problems rather than systemic or economic issues.

Oooooooooh boy.....

... you're starting to sound like your old nemesis, lexity, Brian_G. 👀

:coffee: :giggle:

I'm seeing the opposite. What are you looking at now?

"Earlier this week, the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses announced that the decision to accept red cells, white cells, plasma or platelets from another person’s blood is a matter of personal conscience. "Likewise, each Witness must decide whether or not to donate blood for the clearly expressed purpose of providing components or fractions for use by another person," read a statement from the organisation."

Dunno, I'm seeing the same basic outline for both in that. If anything, receiving is mentioned first.

My neighbour is an elder in the local JW temple.
Fortunately he has given up on converting me.
He himself needed a bypass operation some years back and was lucky that blood substitute worked for him
Asked why he could not use real blood, his answer was "it is God's way" but refused to be drawn on the logic. He said it is a basic lesson of JW Theology not to question their fundamental beliefs
I must ask him about this reversal in doctrine. I think he will be embarassed

Diep River temple. Chock a block on worship days

Mate, you shouldn't post photos during story time. One of your amazing uncle/cousin/friend/colleague/neighbour stories got busted in the past, after you posted a fake photo and somebody here found it online.

At his age he should be widely experienced, but yes, he was known for this a bit on the DStv forum as well.

Who cares really 🤷‍♂️
