2,076 government sites stuck with slow Internet in South Africa

Have asked if anyone has WiFi on their WhatsApp group?
Ah yeah the generic term for internet... Not even sure when that became so... I have so often just wanted to reply what does their WiFi have to do with mine?

Irrelevant.
They'd do ever more f*kol if they had proper internet.

So how much is this 1980's internet costing the taxpayer. I think that would be the real question.

“I am confident that 24 months from today, we will be talking about a different organisation because the failures are simply a consequence of the lack of evolution,” the CEO said.

but starlink is a security risk according to these 30%ers
Well a CEO of a foreign company is exerting pressure on a government over policy due to ideological differences. You might not agree with the government's policy and completely agree with his view on BEE but the way he executes on this is pretty much the definition of a security risk.

And by the way EU countries have sniffed out the same.

One man having so much power over a unique technology, even if he was a benevolent saint, is a security risk.

It's not just him but the US government has the same stance. And before you say anything on that, we actually do need them to be friendly to us and they CAN dictate policy to us. As far as security risk with SSL commonplace I don't see much of a risk and where more protection is required there's VPNs. Only risk would be for critical applications to put all your eggs in one basket.
