3d Printers South Africa

https://waveoverhangs.com/ print 90 degree overhangs without support.

Still playing around with the settings, but much better than printing with supports on this print.

Almost perfect, not bad for printing openings in open air. This is esun PET clear with a 0.6mm nozzle

I was looking at clear PLA to print the warp nacelles on a star trek model, but someone suggested I use SA filament's frosted glass which would act as a light diffuser for the LED's. Has anyone tried something similar before?

This was printer using clear PETG, should work for what you need as well. "Clear" PETG is a lie.

This was Buildvolume house brand clear PETG. Not clear, translucent. I tried clear PLA first but it was very brittle.

I've ordered some of the frosted glass PLA, but I'm starting to think I might have to switch to translucent red and blue. Just such a waste to get 2 rolls for a couple of small parts.

You can paint the inside with some acrylic art paint if you want a colour. 2 or 3 coats usually gives a good colour but is still translucent.

Anycubic Kobra S1 vs Creality K2, or should I look at something else, need an enclosed printer that can do Nylon and ABS prints?
I have the Kobra S1 (with ace 2) and happy with it, but it does not have active chamber heating, which I believe nylon requires.. There is a max version which does have active chamber heating..

I dont believe either of the standard versions of those have active chamber heating so unless we are talking small ABS and Nylon parts I would not go for either. I think there is pro versions that should be better.

The nylon will be 90mm x 30mm gears, and the abs will be small electrical boxes about 130x70mmx40mm LxWxH printed with eSun eABS Max. Any reason not to go with a bambu X2D?

Ive ordered some Sunlu easy PA and The eABS Max, will see if I can make it work with a diy enclosure on the Ender 3v3. If I can print it without a heated enclosure I'm rather going to wait for the Creality K3.

Please report back.. also considering the DIY enclosure route as a stopgap.
