Not sure that's relevant since, as far as "legal identity" is concerend, it is already covered by the issuance of a birth certificate. Can't have multiple ID's, Agenda 2030 does not make provision for it, primarily because the Smart ID has the RFID chip embedded in it and your details are updated on an ongoing basis. (Or will be once they get there).
Birth certificate is just confirmation that a birth has been entered into the system, have no idea if or how that process will change, it is legally a foundational identity document, but not containing a photograph means it cannot be used for verification purposes at a checkpoint, roadblock etc. The law does not seem to reject it's use, so to my mind a grey area when looking at the agenda documents. Not sure that's relevant since, as far as "legal identity" is concerend, it is already covered by the issuance of a birth certificate.

I agree - we should just standardise to one document or card. There is a bigger picture that we need to look at. The Green ID book will be invalidated in 18 months' time. As such, it forces everyone to carry their ID / Passport in person. This will buy time until the new fraudulent proof drivers licence come on line. Pesonally, i think we should rather just transition to digital licences and identitystill dont understand why we moved away from this, to separate cards
or like most things in SA, it was because of an old printer or ridiculously outdated technologies

Nor at banks, car dealerships, cash converters/ CrusadersI have never not been able to use my drivers license when getting on a domestic flight.
They just wanted to know if you needed glasses or not honest and if you could help them with a trailerFunny.
Was at an office earlier where the security insisted on scanning my drivers license instead of ID.
