Tips to Boost your eBucks - 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027

Its kind of ridiculous, if memory serves correctly, the requirement for half price tickets on PW is that one must spend like R14k per month for each month in the quarter. Spend almost R45k in order to have the privilege (or inconvenience) of buying tickets at SK to go watch a movie?

I mean it’s not really “spend” to someone on PW, it’s just normal expenditure.

If you aren’t spending 15K a month then what are you doing on PW?

Yep - petrol, groceries and a couple of other purchases / payments (rates, etc) could quite easily get you to R14k...

it feels this was a afterthought "benefit"

You know when you search on the internet for a problem and then you find a post somewhere where they say thanks that solved the problem, but they don't mention how... this is one of those posts ;)

Care to share?

Haha, sorry aobout that. But it's just where you normally look for the deals in the different stores (iStore, Hirsch's etc) in the EBucks section on the app. So go to the regular "Partner Shop" stores and you'll see they have Birthday Deals' added.

Yes agreed, that's not really what I am getting at, I recall writing that in a rush.

The spend is not difficult (and actually required for some other rules as well) for those on PW, and thus the value of the reward is more of a nuisance. Remind you every month for 3-4 months that you dont qualify yet (because we aren't in January 2027 yet)...

They’ve actually pushed a shopping trolley from the shop to my house more than once

But hey, why walk for 20% when I can sit on my arse for 30%?
Damn right! Pity they don't do my suburb (Checkers and Woolworths do). We shop there on Sundays for the 20%.

Yep, 20% on your booze and non-perishables adds up quickly.

And the fresh pizzas are pretty decent in there as well.
