FNB under fire over “available” account balances

Instructions unclear. Thought this was such good advice I accepted a new credit card at every bank, and transferred all funds into my cheque account. Wow I'm rich, thank you so much!!!!
You can level up by getting overdrafts now.

Does FNB still have the issue with salary payments that only become accessible after 24 hours?
I always understood that salary/wage payments need to be available immediately on payment, but I constantly had employees with FNB accounts complain that their salaries show as "Available" but that they can only start withdrawing it after 24 hours.

Not an issue! If its pending but available, move your salary to your to your bond

Been doing it for 25 years!

The balance will be negative, but corrected after 24 hours

Can confirm that this still happens. Things move slowly in fnb land
if you think about it crypto wallets update in 30 min or so, so what exactly is FNB excuse.
silly system they have that cant update faster then that.
Wait until you see the terribleness that is the Share Zero account. FNB have single handedly made easy equities look like one of the best investment platforms.

Huh?

Never noticed this before. Probably related to the timing of a batch job on the mainframe that only runs at midnight and runs into the next day (I guess?).

Is this for employers that bank with FNB?

Reall don't understand what the issue with FNB is, my current account is always up to date and transactions reflect immediately while the balance is adjusted even before the money is deducted by the relevant party, so looking at my balance tells me what I have after any pending deductions that may not have gone off yet. My credit card on the other hand is an absolute mess with the deductions only reflecting days after the transaction. This really isn't rocket science and if they get it right on one account, they have no excuse for not getting it right on every account.
My cheque works correctly. It’s the credit card where these pending transactions stay for up to a week. Why not at least remove the pending from my balance. It’s really a **** system.
You need a degree in the dark arts to understand how to work out your spend and actual available funds on an FNB credit card.
I've given up trying, especially when you need to also factor in banked and unbanked payments for eBucks/smart spend.
It really shouldn't be this hard, just display the data in a more coherent manner.

Sort of.

It always says that my salary has been paid but does not show as available... but I can still transfer it and I can use it.

Thats a pain.

I do think its got to do with so many people getting paid on the same day.
Weird thing is I have never heard of this happening with any other bank. Certainly had no complaints from any other bank, especially Capitec which the bulk of my people bank with.
A well, mystery to me.
