We have no real capibility in this regard.

It has happened a few times (publicly) where the US has reported on people living and operating in SA that our own government had no knowledge about

*note* They either have no knowledge or are supporting these activities.
 
All our "Intellegence Services" (and I use the terms very liberally) is capable of doing is digging up dirt on the opposition - and they can't even do that well enough to stop the ANC's backward slide! As far as Cyber security is concerned, most Government Departments still have to work with 2MB connections and use "1234" as a password. SA Citizens might as well publish their personal details voluntarily on the dark net!
 
Most of the systems the ANC have were set up for the country by the US. There is no such thing as an intelligence service in this country. Just a cadre protection scheme.
 
if they want to plant a secret agent on the inside they'll stick out like a sore thumb

no way any westerner can fake looking as useless as an ANC cadre!
