Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 7

I am at my wits end! Please can someone help! At least once a week, at exactly 8PM, my line drops. Sometimes for 20 minutes, sometimes for a few hours. If I restart the ont and WiFi router it comes on for a few minutes and then drops again. Support now seem to just close my ticket when I raise them, there are a few dozen. Bu the time they call in the morning I am back up and running. This is beyond frustrating!!!

HI there, apologies for any inconvenience caused, would you mind sharing your ticket reference so that I can have a look?
EDIT, nvm, I have found the account from a past reference. I will ask our team to raise with Vuma accordingly. Could be a timed reboot setup somewhere.

Have you also checked your router for a timed reboot setting? (Apologies if this has been asked/answered before)

I have no idea how to check that?

If you log into your router, there should be an advanced section, then a System section. Where you would find Timed Reboot,.
Something like this

(This is a cudy though, but i see you have a TP Link, would you mind sharing the model number as well?)

Some higher than normal latency Vumatel + Cool Ideas + CPT.

When looking at Dota2 EU west servers I usually get 150-155ms, today it's 180+

Hi there. I didn't see anything on our international that would explain it, so could be something server side or a temp re-routing of traffic. Can you perhaps share a trace to a server IP for Dota 2?

Looking at the few easy to find Valve IP's online looks like you guys are not peering with Valve at Linx and carrying traffic via Twelve99. For instance an IP i found for Amsterdam its going Lisbon, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam

*Could be wrong here. On PeeringDB says you guys are peer with them in London and Lisbon

Yeah and I see the peer is up, but they are only advertising a single prefix currently.

They also peer at DECIX Madrid so seeing what we learn there vs using 1299

Thanks, yeah seems the chnges made didn't make much of a difference. But tricky since Valorant doesn't disclose their server IP's
They mainly use the AWS Global Accelerator Anycast IP. Which doesn't really help us much unfortunately
Just to add to this, there is a horrible feeling of delay/desync perception delay when playing valorant that isn't present on any other game. I don't know anybody else who experiences this(I also don't know anyone else on Cool Ideas).

It doesn't show up on any graph or anything but every second game or so it is clearly there.

Thanks. We will see what else we can do. As the change made was an experiment to see what would happen in-game, which didn't seem to make a difference compared to the trace. So we would need to somehow find the exact IP's of the servers they use, which unfortunately was not the ones I found initially.
