A well developed cold-front will pass over the southern half of SA this weekend, bringing substantially cooler temperatures to the eastern part by Mon 19th. However it will only bring limited relief to the far north-western parts of the country. This chart shows the likely daytime temperatures on Tues 20th:

That is the first time I have seen Beaufort wind scale referred to in a forecast:

5 Bft refers to Force 5 on the Beaufort Wind Scale, which is classified as a "Fresh Breeze."

I was watching last night as some isolated cells popped up but were way to the E/SE over MP. Looks like we are going to need every drop we can get.

The funny thing is in the airport specific forecasts they've mentioned a 40% chance of hail for OR Tambo, which you don't see often at all. I assume due to the high temperatures if an isolated cell does pop up it's going to be relatively violent
